Hashayara – Building a Network of Jewish Educators in Europe
Hashayara works towards the cultivation of a Jewish education and identity amongst small Jewish communities across Europe. We provide these communities with a solution to their ever growing needs and challenges: assimilation, loneliness, shortage in qualified manpower and pedagogical materials for teaching Judaism and Hebrew. Through our program, Israeli educators, whom are on sabbatical, are sent to 2 short emissaries to these Jewish schools. There they work side by side with their foreign peers, share their experience, bring new ideas and benefit from the encounter with Jewish life outside of Israel and the challenges that arise from it. In most cases, the relationship between the communities and the Israeli educators continues to deepen over time.
