Cracking the Glass Ceiling Program
Gender empowerment of school girls in the fields of science, technology, and mathematics.
A gender empowerment program that was designed to increase the number of girls studying science and technology (STEM). The girls are committed to their studies and achieve a highquality Bagrut diploma. The program creates the opportunity for them to pursue higher education, build a career, and achieve both personal and professional fulfillment.
מכיתה ח’ ועד כיתה י”ב, התלמידות נחשפות לעולם האקדמי ולחברות היי־טק, פוגשות מנטוריות המשמשות מודלים להשראה, משתתפות בסדנאות מגדר והעצמה, ומקבלות תמיכה לחיזוק ההישגים הלימודיים, בדגש על מתמטיקה. בוגרות התוכנית מסיימות בית ספר תיכון כשבידיהן תעודת בגרות איכותית, ומדווחות על עלייה בתחושת המסוגלות ומוטיבציה גבוהה לפיתוח קריירה בתחום ה־ STEM . רבות מהבוגרות משרתות בצבא או בשירות לאומי בתפקידים משמעותיים, ובוחרות בלימודי המשך אקדמיים.
Outcome Indicators
- שיעור הזכאיות לבגרות איכותית, בבי”ס בה פועלת התוכנית, עובר את שיעור הזכאות הארצי.
- The percentage of pupils eligible for an outstanding Bagrut exceeds the national eligibility rate.
- At least half of the program graduates begin academic studies within 5 years of completing their military service, and over 60% chose to develop a career in the STEM field.
Over 80% of those who start the program will continue through the 10th grade, and over 80% of them will successfully complete the program in the 12th grade. Over 60% of them are in the STEM subjects track.
