The Yesharim Program - a program designed for elementary schools
Significant and sustainable change in the achievements of low-achieving elementary schools
A 'transformation' program in elementary schools, with low achievements, in all dimensions of the Ministry of Education's assessment. The program strengthens the sense of competence of the school staff and improves the quality of teaching processes, while continuously increasing the number of school enrollments, reducing the level of violence in schools, and breaking the correlation between socioeconomic status and the level of achievements in verbal and quantitative literacy.
The concept of school guidance focuses on the empowerment and professionalization of school leadership and educational staff, on strengthening professional identity that will lead to a change in attitudes and perceptions, and on creating a supportive learning environment for educational staff and students. Out of trust and respect for educational staff, based on quantitative and qualitative research data, and in accordance with the unique characteristics and needs of each school, a unique program is built for each school, around the organizational, pedagogical, and identity axis, while synchronizing all components of the system.
Yesharim Program – Outcome Indicators:
- The school's teachers in language acquisition subjects successfully pass an evaluation test in the area of the quality of teaching processes, and in the area of perceptions and attitudes.
- School teachers report a sense of the school staff's ability to deal well with complex problems on the organizational, pedagogical, and identity fronts.
- The correlation between the prediction task and reading acquisition has broken down, and the distribution of achievements is normal.
The school's language acquisition teachers undergo weekly individual training, use monitoring tools in language tests, and adapt a personal curriculum for students as needed.
