All of Israel has a part.
Lesson plan

- carrier: identity, Memizrach Shemesh, Traditional
In Israeli social discourse, there is a dichotomous division – religious and secular. This perception does not take into account the many people in Israeli society who define their Jewish identity as traditional. The traditional person is defined as someone whose Jewish identity is partial, symbolic, confused, and determined by personal considerations. We believe that understanding the central value that underlies traditional identity, which is the ability to see every person from Israel as part of the whole, is a value that can bring healing to the divided and polarized Israeli society.

The role of parents in educating their children
Lesson plan
Designed for:
Seminaries, communities

The education system expects parental involvement and sees this involvement as a condition for the success of the educational process. This involvement should be expressed, in the perception of the school, in certain actions such as participation in parent meetings and school activities, representation on the class committee, continuous contact with teachers, etc. An education system may create a situation in which parents from economically and class-disadvantaged social strata are perceived by society and the education system as parents who are not caring and involved enough in their children's education because they are often not active in this way. A deep and sensitive examination of the difficulty of these parents can reveal that it does not stem from a lack of interest or unwillingness to be involved, but from the way in which the education system measures parental care and involvement. The judicial conduct towards them labels, weakens, and excludes these parents in a way that does not allow them to make their voice heard, and creates in them alienation from the system and avoidance of involvement and sometimes even aggression towards it. The school has a significant role in education, but parents have a more crucial role in educating their children. The foundation for education and learning is built at home. Respectful treatment of the educational foundation provided by the home, every home, without labeling of economic or class status will enable cooperation and prevent further weakening of parents. Respectful treatment depends on the ability to listen to these parents, to open up to the culture and language they bring with them, and to the ways in which they express themselves.

Social projects are the main way for organizations or social activists to lead social change. Each project is built on an idea, belief and/or perception that the project leaders assume that if they are realized, change will occur. There are different ways to approach project implementation, some of which advocate careful planning of the project in advance and following its lead, some of which involve trial and error, some of which suggest trying to raise possible failures and try to solve them in advance, and some of which suggest starting to encounter the failures in the field and starting over. The way in which one chooses to approach a project may have a significant impact on its success and the effect it will produce. Setting goals and objectives for the project will allow one to choose an appropriate way to approach it.
An invitation to authenticity
Lesson plan
Designed for:
Seminaries, communities
- carrier: Memizrach Shemesh
Authenticity is an abstract and somewhat elusive concept that is based on a person's loyalty to their identity and culture despite external influences. In a society built on a hierarchy between cultures, languages, and identities, there is a constant attempt by individuals and communities at the bottom of the hierarchy to try to resemble the identities and cultures at the top. This attempt involves heavy prices paid by those who try to change their identity and culture and losses for the entire society, which loses the values and culture of an entire community within it. Identifying the processes that create a turn away from authenticity, and strengthening the original identity and culture, allows for a process of correction for individuals and communities that have given up their cultural identity treasures and want to return to them.
